Meet Our Team

Sally Walker-Garner: President

Sally is currently serving her second year as the President of West City, where she is excited to see the Club’s continued growth in the upcoming season. Her passion lies in making baseball an inclusive and accessible sport for all, striving to create opportunities for every player involved. Deeply valuing a welcoming and inclusive culture, Sally is committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels like they truly belong. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to baseball, Sally received the ‘Baseball New Zealand Regional Volunteer of the Year’ for Auckland during the 22/23 season. This serves as a testament to her relentless pursuit of positively impacting the sport and its community. During the summer months, you’ll find Sally at the diamond supporting her son Mikael who plays 16U. Sally is a proud San Diego Padres fan.

Amanda Bridges: Secretary

Amanda stumbled upon her passion for baseball thanks to her children’s participation in the sport. Over the last three years, she has dedicated herself to the game as an EO and Scorer. Along with helping out on the diamond when the Coaches need an extra hand. Amanda’s dedication to the game extends beyond her children’s teams. She has found immense joy in giving back to the baseball community, leading to her involvement as the EO for the Little League Asia Pacific Majors team. These opportunities allow her to combine her love for baseball with her desire to contribute and support others.

Hayden Walsh: Treasurer

Hayden is relatively new to baseball, he grew up playing football and cricket, however since being bitten by the baseball bug he’s has not looked back. Hayden helped start Wairarapa’s first baseball league and joined West City’s Divs team when he returned to Auckland. Hayden has 2 children, one already part of the Rookie Ball programme and the other will be joining this summer.

Jodi Granich: Board Member

Jodi has spent many years on the sidelines of sports fields with her two boys. After years of volunteering where needed, West City has finally convinced Jodi to join the Board in a more official role. Jodi is excited to see the Club grow while maintaining its strong grounding in creating a supportive and encouraging environment for our young players.

Samuel Eva: Board Member

Samuel has been around baseball for 10 years helping rebuild West City Baseball Club, filling multiple roles in the club. His passion is coaching and while coaching for West City, he was able to support teams and players develop the game, win tournaments, and move on to rep honors. Away from WCBC, Samuel has had opportunities to work with both Guam and Fiji baseball during their tours & tournaments in New Zealand. He also has had the opportunity to learn the game with Eastern University, Pennsylvania, USA during their off-season. Samuel has also served Auckland Little League for the last 5 years, most recently being appointed as Manager for the 12U for the 2nd season running. When playing, Samuel loves to be at 2nd base or Centre Field. His goal is to give his players the best opportunities available to them so they develop into well-rounded athletes.
